Crip Rave Theory

Large spotlights are focused onto a shallow mirrored pool that collects dripping water reflecting the image onto the back of a semi-transparent textile that is hung between the main space and the foyer. In front of the stage an array of mini-spot lights are angled onto two rotating cast and polished bronze reflectors that project warped light onto the face of the textile. Tungsten fresnel and profile lights are focused upwards to the ceiling highlighting the venue’s brutalist interior while bouncing soft light back down into the space. Special attention is paid to pathways, ramps, stages and work areas to provide sufficient practical light while remaining in balance with the aesthetic light.
