Nongkrong - Soda Gembira + Misitis

As part of Nongkrong’s 2025 festival two events were organised at the same venue, Soda Gembira a club night with DJ’s and dance and Mistis which was more experimental and live music focused.

We needed to create two distinct atmospheres for the evens that met their different needs.

For Soda Gembira we used a combination of mini-spot lights and aluminium reflectors to light the dance performances while LED pylons were used for affect and fill light, the installation spilled out into the dance floor to allow the audience to connect with each other as well as the performers.

For Mistis we used the same equipment but focused it totally on the stage to create a central point for the audience to be drawn into.

The events had distinct atmospheres which were aided by using the same system in differing ways.
